22 Our trips are bound by our Booking Terms & Conditions - for details visit discover-the-world.co.uk/educationalvisitsMorocco Deserts, mountains and starry nightsFollowing a short 3½ hour fl ight you arrive in Morocco, greeted by the technicolour life of Africa and Islam, a whole world away from Europe. In this land of great contrasts students can learn about its fusion of cultures; discover the Sahara, the largest hot desert on earth; venture into the spectacular High Atlas or Anti-Atlas Mountains; visit the vibrant cities of Marrakesh or Agadir; see dramatic sandstone arches on the Atlantic coast and delve into local history at ancient tombs and palaces. The set itineraries we offer (5 or 7 days), include a night in the desert which is proving extremely popular with teachers and students alike. Enjoy a traditional dinner, sunset and a spot of star gazing - with minimal light interference the Milky Way, Pleiades (the seven sisters) and Orisons Nebula are often visible. Following a night in Berber tents, and a very early wake up call, ride camels out to the dunes. Dismount at the peak of the highest dune to marvel at the drama and changing colours of the sands as the sun rises over the Sahara. Wherever you travel and whichever itinerary you choose, you are presented with an abundance of subject matter and natural phenomena. Why Morocco with Discover the World?FREE teacher inspection trips - see our website for detailsDirect liaison with your dedicated travel specialist who has fi rst hand experience of what the region has to offer school groupsItineraries that include the following Geography topics: Hot Deserts and their Margins; Ecosystems; Landforms; Tectonic Processes; Desertifi cation; River Environments; Living in Harsh Environments; Water Security; World Cities; Changing Urban Environments; Rural Communities and Farming Systems; Cold EnvironmentsCross curricular opportunities include Science and GeologyVisit a developing country and experience 'life on the margins'Prices from£598Based on 40 students and 4 staff on a 5-day tripAit-Benhaddou © Floortje
