A path leads behind the water as it plunges into the river. At around 50m high, the waterfall is at its most powerful when the snow melts in May and June. Hardanger Akvasenter Fish Farming - sustainability This exhibition is truly remarkable, trace the journey of the salmon from smolt through to the top restaurants in Paris or Tokyo. The visit is split between both land and a floating fish farm, accessible only by boat and visitors can watch the salmon via underwater cameras. Groups may also order lunchboxes containing delicious salmon dishes combined with other local delicacies from Hardanger.Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry Sustainability, energy and resource management This exhibit illustrates not only the mechanics of generating hydro-electrical power but also the history and effect it has on the local community. Exploring the HardangerfjordThe 120 km long Hardangerfjord is known as the 'fertile fjord' thanks to the hundreds of thousands of apple trees lining its hillsides.
