Its mouth, called 'Gola del Ter' is located in Torroella de Montgrí, L'estartit, in the middle of the Costa Brava. The Ter follows a course of 208km and drains an area of approximately 3010 km2; its basin is described by a dendritic and exorheic drainage pattern. River Ter estuary River studies This is the most important part of the Baix Ter plain. Sedimentation associated with the river has given rise to the actual topography of the plain and together with marine dynamics, is responsible for the creation of the different aquatic environments that can be found in the area.Estartit Coastline Coastal studies One of the most rugged, unspoilt parts of the Costa Brava, it runs from Cala Montgó to L'Estartit past the Montgrí Massif cliffs, past the Ferriol, Falaguer, Pedrosa and Calella coves and the Milà, Castell and Barra promontories. The dramatic cliffs rise to 100m and the coast is full of interesting nooks and crannies, such as La Foradada rock.
