Day 3 The School of St Jude - Mto WaMbuAt The School of St Jude, learn some important life lessonsfrom over 1,000 students, a team of educators and one Australianwoman who has turned her dream of making a real difference tothe poorest of the poor into a successful and vibrant reality.Days 4-5 Serengeti National ParkEnjoy the hustle of the Mto WaMbu markets, or take an optional visit to a nearby Masai villagebefore continuing on to the endless plains of the Serengeti NationalPark. Two full days are spent exploring this wonderful wildlifehaven. Days 6-7 Ngorongoro Crater - ArushaLeaving theSerengeti, we follow in the footsteps of some of our earliestancestors as we pass Olduvai Gorge on the way to our campsite onthe rim of Ngorongoro Crater. From here we descend into aminiature 'Garden of Eden' - an incredible wildlife safari highlight.Days 8-10 Arusha - Nairobi - Masai Mara National ReserveAfter one week amid the beauty of northern Tanzania, we travelback to Nairobi and on to our first Kenyan game park - the worldfamous Masai Mara National Reserve. Two nights are spent here in apermanent tented camp. Day 11 Lake NaivashaFrom Masai Mara,we travel to the edge of Kenya's most famous freshwater lake - LakeNaivasha. Observe the astonishing birdlife and concentration ofhippos that reside here, and take part in some optional activities inthe area. Days 12-13 East Africa Mission Orphanage - LakeNakuru National ParkWe spend two nights camping on thegrounds of the East Africa Mission Orphanage. Have dinner with thekids for some engaging, heart-warming fun. From our base here wealso enjoy a full-day game drive in the renowned Lake NakuruNational Park. Days 14-16 Kericho - Jinja (Nile River)Climbthrough Kenya's Central Highlands, visiting the tea growing estatesof Kericho before reaching the Nile River at Jinja in Uganda. For twonights we fall asleep to the sound of the Nile streaming out of LakeVictoria. Day 17 Ngamba Island Chimpanzee SanctuaryWeventure to Lake Victoria and Ngamba Island, home to a very specialcollection of rescued chimpanzees. The chimps love visitors - theirantics and familiar mannerisms are sure to entertain.Days 18-19 Queen Elizabeth National ParkOur next wildlifedestination, Queen Elizabeth National Park, is also set aroundwater - a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel is a scenic treat as arethe morning and afternoon game drives. Days 20-21 ParcNational des Volcans - Gorilla TrekkingWe enter Rwanda andtrek to see the magnificent mountain gorillas. A pre-purchasedgorilla permit, combined with the knowledge and professionalism ofthe local trackers and guides, ensures we get to experience thesegentle giants in their own environment. Day 22 KigaliLeaving thetowering volcanoes of the Parc National des Volcans, we drive theshort distance to the capital, Kigali. A visit to the Genocide Memorialis a sobering experience.
