Days 1-3 Beijing - Great WallArrive at any time onDay 1, as there are no planned activities. In the following days, weexplore the Forbidden City, stroll across Tiananmen Square and walkalong a well-preserved section of the Great Wall. Days 4-5 Xi'an -Terracotta WarriorsAn overnight train journey brings us into Xi'anat dawn. Soon we're out exploring this historic city, our first stop:the 2,000-year-old Terracotta Warriors. There is time to wanderthrough Xi'an's Muslim Quarter too (make sure you try thedumplings!). Days 6-8 YangshuoA short flight takes us to Guilin,then it's a local bus to Yangshuo, our base for the next few days. Aphotographer's paradise, the countryside surrounding Yangshuo isbest explored on bikes. Days 9-10 Hong KongFrom the bustlingsouthern city of Guangzhou, we board a hydrofoil to cruise intoHong Kong. There is just so much to see and do in Hong Kong - takein the epic panorama from Victoria Peak, head to the markets atStanley or slurp and chew your way through some sumptuous foodin Tsim Sha Tsui. Our journey comes to an end on Day 10. If you'dlike to stay additional nights, please request at the time of yourbooking. Days 1-3 Beijing - Great Wall Our trip begins inBeijing, one of the world's great capitals. We spend a full-dayexploring the Great Wall at Simatai. We also check out theForbidden City and Tiananmen Square and wander through thenarrow hutongs (backstreets). Days 4-5 Xi'an - TerracottaWarriorsXi'an's most famous attraction is the Terracotta Warriors,one of the world's greatest archaeological treasures. There is alsotime in Xi'an to explore the markets, walk or bicycle along theancient wall, or stroll through the engaging Muslim Quarter.Days 6-8 Luoyang - Shaolin TempleThe legend of kung fusurrounds us as we make our way to its birthplace, Shaolin Temple.This area attracts thousands of disciples who train under watchfulmasters' eyes. After watching the kung fu students practice we visitthe Longmen Grottoes. Days 9-10 Suzhou - ZhouzhuangThelegend of China's beautiful silk was spun in the city of Suzhou,where we can inspect the local handicrafts as well as explore themany beautiful gardens. The following day we venture toZhouzhuang, known as Venice of the East. Days 11-12 ShanghaiInthe morning a short train ride takes us to the Paris of the East,Shanghai. We have time to explore this dynamic city.
