DAY 1: PRETORIA/ JOHANNESBURG- Our trip starts today at our lodge in a remote area between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Note: It is recommended that you pre- book an arrival transfer due to the lodge's remote location. DAY 2: BLYDE RIVER CANYON REGION-Drive to the historic town of Graskop. The Blyde River Canyon is the world's largest green canyon. DAYS 3 & 4: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK-Enter the famous Kruger National Park. Take morning and afternoon game drives with an option to take a guided night game drive. DAY 5: MLILWANE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY ( SWAZILAND)- Enter the culturally rich Kingdom of Swaziland. We visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory before continuing on to our campsite in Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. DAY 6: ZULULAND - ST LUCIA- Visit a Zulu ' kraal' and enjoy a traditional Zulu lunch before continuing to St Lucia. An optional sunset cruise can be taken in the World Heritage listed St Lucia Wetlands Reserve. DAY 7: HLUHLUWE- IMFOLOZI NATIONAL PARK- A game drive allows time to explore Hluhluwe- Imfolozi National Park - the oldest game park in Africa. The reserve is home to the largest concentration of both black and white rhinos in the world, as well as elephants, giraffes and lions. DAYS 8 & 9: DRAKENSBERG MOUNTAINS-Travel through the heart of Zululand to the Giant's Castle region of the Drakensberg Mountains. We take a hike in this spectacular region to view ancient Bushmen rock paintings. The scenery is breathtaking and very unique - the flat- topped mountains soar all around you and the colours change as the day progresses. Extremely memorable. DAY 10: UMTATA - NELSON MANDELA'S BIRTHPLACE- Travel south- west through the Transkei towards the famous coastline of South Africa. We spend the evening camping at Umtata, the birthplace of Nelson Mandela. DAY 11: CINTSA EAST ( WILD COAST)- After visiting the Mandela Museum, we head south to the coastal town of Cintsa East. A free afternoon gives us time to wander along the beach and absorb the coastal landscape. DAY 12: ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK- Explore Addo Elephant National Park on an afternoon game drive. This park is home to a population of about 450 elephants, and a variety of other wildlife. Our campsite is located within the park. DAYS 13 & 14: TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK- We drive past the renowned surf beach at Jeffrey's Bay and arrive at the mouth of the Storms River, inside Tsitsikamma National Park. We hike the beginning of the world famous Otter Trail to the bottom of a majestic waterfall. DAY 15: PLETTENBERG BAY - KNYSNA - WILDERNESS NATIONAL PARK- Spend the day exploring the coastal towns of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna before reaching Wilderness National Park, located in the heart of South Africa's picturesque Garden Route. DAY 16: OUDTSHOORN - CANGO CAVES-Explore the vast halls and towering formations of the spectacular underground Cango Caves. We visit an ostrich farm and learn about their many commercial uses - we can even try our hand at riding one! DAY 17: WINELANDS - CAPE TOWN- We travel over the Swartberg Pass to the magnificent winelands region of the Western Cape. Here we enjoy an afternoon of wine-tasting before reaching Cape Town where we spend our final night. DAYS 4 & 5: ANTELOPE PARK- Visiting Antelope Park, a private reserve located near Bulawayo, will have the chance to walk with lion cubs and also have the opportunity to go game viewing atop an elephant or even swim with these majestic animals! DAYS 6 & 7: GREAT ZIMBABWE RUINS - TSHIPSE HOT SPRINGS- The Great Zimbabwe Ruins is a series of imposing enclosures, surrounded by great stone walls over an area of several square kilometres. After exploring the site, we continue to South Africa for a relaxing break at the outdoor hot spring pools of Tshipse. DAYS 8 & 9: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK-We visit Kruger National Park for two days of game viewing. This park covers an area of 21,497 square kilometres and is home to 500 species of birds and 146 different types of mammals. We spend two nights camping within the park and are given the option to take an evening game drive in an open safari vehicle. DAY 10: BLYDE RIVER CANYON- Blyde River Canyon is reputedly the world's largest green canyon. After exploring the canyon and absorbing the breathtaking scenery of the area we reach our campsite, which sits perched upon the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Kruger lowveld.
