Take in the Acropolis and the Colloseum but visit the sights of Macedonia, Lithuania and Serbia as well, instead of taking the train between Athens and Istanbul, island- hop by ferry, or go ahead and take the train and cover a plethora of countries in one tour ( how does 11 sound?!), push the boundaries of European travel and venture to Russia, Georgia and Iceland, or simply head to Spain but avoid the busy Costa del beaches and head into the isolated mountains of the Sierra Nevada.
