DAY 2: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE-Drive north to the Samburu National Reserve where we set up our bush camp for the next two nights, enjoying a game drive en route. Samburu is situated in the semi-desert northern frontier area of Kenya and contains many species not found elsewhere in Kenya. ( BLD) DAY 3: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE-We enjoy an early morning game drive and also visit a Samburu village to learn more about their way of life. The Samburu people are thought to be related to the Maasai and share some similar customs and ways of dress. In the late afternoon we head out on another game drive, returning to the campsite for dinner around the camp fire. ( BLD) DAY 4: MT KENYA- Drive to Mt Kenya ( 5199m), the second highest mountain in Africa. You have the afternoon free to enjoy an optional walk in the forest around the base of Mt Kenya, known for its prolific bird life and black and white Colobus monkeys. ( BLD) DAY 5: LAKE NAKURU- Today we travel to Lake Nakuru, famous for being the home of up to two million flamingos. The park is also well known for leopard, and as it is a rhino sanctuary, sightings of black and white rhino are common, as well as lion and buffalo. ( BL) DAY 6: LAKE NAIVASHA- We take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and have the option of also visiting Hell's Gate National Park, an area of spectacular scenery with good opportunities for game watching. ( BLD) DAY 7: MAASAI MARA- We travel to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The Maasai Mara has one of the highest densities of wildlife to be found anywhere in Africa including the ' big five' and 453 species of birds. Its rolling plains are considered to be the world's best game viewing location. We set up camp here for two nights. If time allows we enjoy an afternoon game drive. ( BLD) DAY 8: MAASAI MARA- An early wake up for a full day of game driving in the reserve. We hope to spot lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, hippo, hyena and much more. We round off with a late afternoon game drive on route back to our camp. There is an option of visiting a Maasai village before returning to our camp. ( BLD) DAY 9: NAIROBI- We enjoy a hearty breakfast, break down camp and head back to Nairobi arriving around lunchtime. Tour ends upon arrival.
