DAY 2: LAKE NAKURU- Depart early and head for Lake Nakuru, a sanctuary for the endangered black and white rhino as well as a home to vast flocks of flamingos. Upon arrival we take a game drive. ( BLD) DAY 3: MT ELGON- Drive to Mt Elgon, Kenya's second highest mountain which straddles the border with Uganda. On arrival we can take a scenic drive to appreciate the spectacular beauty of this area, or visit one of the caves which dot the mountain, renowned for the elephants that visit them to dig for salt. ( BLD) DAY 4: KAMPALA- Bidding farewell to Kenya we travel to the beautiful country of Uganda, and on to the capital, Kampala. ( BL) DAY 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK- Today we travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the best in Uganda. We arrive in time for an afternoon game drive and hope to see a wide variety of wildlife including lion, leopard, elephant, hippo and the rare giant forest hog. ( BLD) DAY 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK- Today we embark on a cruise through the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is home to huge numbers of hippos and crocodiles. We'll also have time for another game drive through the park. Please note that it is also possible to track wild chimpanzees in the Kyamburu Gorge - this must be pre- booked as space is limited. ( BLD) DAYS 7- 10: GORILLA TRACKING- We travel to the mountains bordering Rwanda and Uganda, home to the world's population of mountain gorillas. Tracking gorillas in their natural habitat is one of the most amazing experiences that Africa offers; to be in the company of such magnificent creatures is something that will stay with you forever. We spend one day tracking gorillas; the rest of the time in this area is free to take part in other optional activities such as forest walks to look for monkeys and birds, and visits to local communities.
