The house offers a fine example of the architecture of the period and is furnished with elegant decorations. Well located, the famous V & A Waterfront is just a few minutes away. While staying here you can enjoy the fantastic hospitality that South Africa is renowned for. DAY 2: CAPE TOWN - A full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, including Cape Point, the penguin colony and many other surrounding sites. A great way to get to grips with this fascinating and vibrant city. ( B) DAY 3: CAPE TOWN- After breakfast you will be collected and taken on a half- day tour of a local township. Experience another facet of Cape Town, one revealed to very few tourists. This intimate interactive tour will give you a fantastic insight into the many characters of this fascinating city. In the afternoon you will visit Robben Island, famous for being the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for so many years. ( B) DAY 4: CAPE TOWN- Transfer to the airport and your return flight. DAYS 2 & 3: NAMIB DESERT- We depart Windhoek and travel into the famous Namib Desert, one of the world's oldest deserts. We climb the famous ' Dune 45' and visit the beautiful area of Sossusvlei, where there are stunning photographic opportunities of a ' sea' of red dunes. We also have the option of a guided walk and stop off at Sesriem Canyon. ( Day 2 - BLD, Day 3 - BL) DAYS 4 & 5: SWAKOPMUND- We leave the dune fields behind and head back into the mountain desert on our way to Swakopmund, a delightful Bavarian style town situated snugly between sea and desert. Reaching the massive coastal sand dunes at Walvis Bay, we stop to see the large colony of flamingos ( when in season) in the lagoon before arriving at Swakopmund. On Day 5 we have a full free day to take part in any of the many optional activities available in this colonial town, from deep sea fishing to dolphin watching tours, or perhaps visiting a local township for some cultural interaction. ( Day 4 - BL, Day 5 - B) DAY 6: TWYFELFONTEIN- Drive to Twyfelfontein, the largest collection of Bushman rock art in Africa and have time to explore the unusual rock formations of the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain. ( BLD) DAYS 7 & 8: KAOKOLAND- We cross the mountains into the far northern region of Kaokoland, the home of the Himba, who arrived in Namibia as late as the 1920s and continued their existence almost unchanged until late into the 20th century. Today many of them still follow traditional customs and adhere to traditional forms of dress. We spend our time at two sites, Sesfontein and Opuwo, and on Day 8 we visit a Himba village. ( Day 7 - BLD, Day 8 - BL) DAY 9: CHEETAH SANCTUARY- We travel to Otjitotongwe to visit a cheetah sanctuary, where we will have the chance to get close to the fastest land mammal on earth - an exhilarating experience. ( BLD) DAYS 10 & 11: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK-Drive to Etosha, Namibia's premier National Park. We spend our time here on game drives, visiting some of the waterholes in the area hoping to catch some of Etosha's big game including desert elephants, lions, black rhino, cheetahs, oryx and various species of antelopes. We visit most areas of the park, to give ourselves the best chance of seeing different game species. ( Day 10 - BLD, Day 11 - BL) DAYS 12 & 13: GROOTFONTEIN- Drive to a Bushman village near Grootfontein, where we have the opportunity to meet these fascinating people and learn about their customs and traditions. Spending time with this unique community is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the trip. ( BLD) DAY 14: WATERBERG PLATEAU- The Waterberg Plateau National Park is a beautiful area with spectacular rock formations and home to endangered species. We have the option of taking a walk up onto the plateau. ( BL) DAY 15: WINDHOEK- We head back to Windhoek, arriving in the afternoon where the tour ends upon arrival. Livingstone is on the Zambian/ Zimbabwean border with Victoria Falls creating a powerful backdrop nearby. DAY 2: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK- We leave Zambia behind and cross the border into Botswana, one of the least visited countries in Africa. ( LD) DAY 3: MAKGADIKGADI PANS- A long drive today as we head for the Makgadikgadi Pans. If conditions allow, we drive onto the pans to appreciate the boundless open space. We then head to our accommodation and take a short hike to a nearby waterhole, where we hope to see elephants. ( BLD) DAYS 4- 6: KHWAI RIVER- After breakfast we join local San Bushmen for a walk and have a chance to experience some of their traditions and lifestyle. We then head for the impressive wilderness area of the Khwai River. After arriving, we go on a night game drive to have the chance to spot some of the more elusive nocturnal creatures. We then spend two full days on game drives, exploring both the Khwai River area and Moremi Game Reserve, known as one of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa. Chances of spotting lion, leopard, buffalo and elephants are excellent. ( BLD) DAY 7: MAUN- We head back to Maun. Should you wish, there is the option of a scenic flight over the delta. ( BLD) DAYS 8 & 9: OKAVANGO DELTA- Today we head for the world's largest inland delta - the Okavango. An oasis of greenery in an arid region, wildlife gathers here in great numbers, and the many waterways offer unforgettable game viewing opportunities from mokoro dugout canoes. With speedboats we transfer to our base in the delta, where we spend the next two nights surrounded by wilderness and the sounds of animals and birds. We take a mokoro trip through the waterways, discovering the variety of wildlife, and also have a guided walk on one of the islands, hoping to spot elephants, waterbuck or any of the other creatures that call this place home. A real highlight of the trip. ( BLD) DAYS 10 & 11: KWANDO RIVER AND MUDUMU NATIONAL PARK- Drive along the Caprivi Strip to the Kwando River and take a game drive through Mudumu National Park, experiencing the remoteness, beauty and wilderness of this area and hoping to spot some of the animals it is famous for such as elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile, hippo and spotted necked otters.
