In the afternoon there is the option to go canoeing or shoot rapids on inner tubes. ( BLD) DAY 6: KRABI - Transfer to Krabi Province, famous for its magnificent limestone karst scenery. DAY 7: KRABI PROVINCE- A free day with a wide choice of activities - canoeing or sea kayaking, exploring the surrounding islands, caves and waterfalls or snorkelling. ( BLD) DAY 5: HILLTRIBE & ELEPHANT TREK- A three hour trek. After lunch we take an elephant ride to our rafting camp. We spend a second night in a hilltribe village. ( BLD) DAY 6: BAMBOO RAFTING - CHIANG MAI- We board bamboo rafts and float downriver, passing riverside villages of Karen, Lahu and Shan tribes along the way. Return to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon. Treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage or relax by the pool. ( BL) DAY 7: CHIANG MAI- A free day; perhaps visit the hilltop temple of Doi Suthep. In the late afternoon we board the overnight train and head south. ( B) DAY 8: BANGKOK- Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to our hotel. We then continue on foot through mountainous terrain to a Palong village where we spend the night in a traditional village house. ( BLD) DAY 5: ELEPHANT RIDE AND BAMBOO RAFTING- After breakfast we ride elephants through the jungle to a small river. We then continue by bamboo raft down the river. Later we return via an orchid garden and butterfly farm to Chiang Mai. There is time to relax around the pool before the overnight train to Bangkok. ( BL) DAY 6: BANGKOK- Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to our guesthouse. Free day. DAY 7: BANGKOK - KANCHANABURI- An early start takes us to Kanchanaburi and the Bridge on the River Kwai. We visit the cemetery and the famous bridge before travelling on to Nakhon Pathom for the overnight train to Surat Thani. ( B) DAY 8: KOH PHA NGAN- Travel by ferry to the beautiful island of Koh Pha Ngan. On arrival we board local pick- up trucks for an unforgettable ride across the island through rainforest to Thongnaipan Beach. Overnight in beach bungalows. DAYS 9- 11: KOH PHA NGAN- Three full days to enjoy such activities as jungle hiking, snorkelling, swimming and boat trips to surrounding areas.
