In the afternoon we visit the deserts of Wadi Rum and its famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom. We enjoy a jeep safari through some of the most spectacular areas and afterwards continue to the hidden ' rose- red' city of Petra. ( B) DAY 5: PETRA- A full day to explore this magnificent site ' as old as time'. ( BD) DAY 6: KERAK - MADABA - MT NEBO - DEAD SEA - AMMAN- Crusader castles, ancient mosaics, panoramic views of Moses' ' Promised Land' and a visit to the famous Dead Sea. A busy day ends in Amman. ( B) DAY 3: DANA- Drive to Dana village, situated inside the Dana Nature Reserve in Jordan's Rift Valley. We spend the night in a Bedouin guesthouse and prepare for our trek ahead. ( BD) DAY 4: TREK- Today we start our trek with local Bedouin guides. From Dana Nature Reserve we follow spectacular mountains and desert landscapes of deep canyons and beautiful white sandstone. The nature reserve also includes a wide variety of plants, birds and animals. We end up at Wadi Fenan where we spend the night. ( BLD) DAY 5: TREK- After breakfast we leave Wadi Fenan and head towards Wadi Araba where we are rewarded with beautiful narrow canyons, high peaks and colourful desert landscapes. This is the same route that Solomon and Aaron took in search for the Promised Land. We continue our trek today until we reach Atlal Aisouffer where we spend the night. ( BLD) DAY 6: TREK- Continue our trek past the remains of an old Edomite stronghold and up to Jebel Qaroun, overlooking Wadi Araba. We also have time to explore some ancient Nabataean ruins. ( BLD) DAY 7: TREK - PETRA- After breakfast, a short trek takes us to Little Petra, a surprisingly interesting site little visited by the main tourist stream to Petra, where we have time to explore before we transfer to Wadi Musa, close to Petra. ( B) DAY 8: PETRA- A full day to explore this magnificent site, this rose- red city ' as old as time'.( B) DAY 9: PETRA - WADI RUM- After a free morning at Petra, we travel to the spectacular desert area of Wadi Rum, site of Lawrence of Arabia's ' Seven Pillars of Wisdom', where we spend the night in a Bedouin camp. ( BD) DAY 10: KERAK - MADABA- Today we drive to Kerak where we visit the crusader castle before continuing to Madaba, famous for its mosaic and churches. ( B) DAY 11: MT NEBO - BAPTISM SITE - DEAD SEA - AMMAN- Visit Mt Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land and you can on clear days see the domes and spires of Jerusalem, plus the peaceful baptism site on the Jordan river where it was believed that Jesus was baptised. We then head to the Dead Sea to enjoy floating in the waters at the lowest point on earth. Later we continue to Amman to spend the night. ( B) DAY 12: AMMAN- Tour ends. DAY 2: JERASH- Excursion to the well preserved Roman city of Jerash including the Roman Army and Chariot Experience Show at the Roman theatre there. Return back to Amman for a guided tour of the amphitheatre and the citadel. ( BD) DAY 3: BAPTISM SITE - DEAD SEA- Today we leave Amman and head to the Dead Sea. We stop en route at the baptism site on the River Jordan, where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, with time to relax on the beach or float in its waters. Overnight in a luxury resort. ( BD) DAY 4: PETRA- Free morning. In the afternoon we continue to Wadi Musa, next to the hidden ' rose- red' city of Petra. In the evening we visit Petra at night, experiencing a different side to the famous site, illuminated by candlelight with the echo of Bedouin music everywhere. ( BD) DAY 5: PETRA- A whole day to explore the magnificent hidden city of Petra, a city ' as old as time'. Afterwards take a Turkish bath to soothe weary limbs. ( BD) DAY 6: WADI RUM - AQABA- In the morning, we drive to the fabulous Wadi Rum, a magnificent area of spectacular desert scenery that was once ' home' to Lawrence of Arabia and his ' Seven Pillars of Wisdom'. We enjoy a jeep ride around the area before we head to our Bedouin camp at Disi oasis for dinner. After dinner we head to our hotel in Aqaba. ( BLD) DAY 7: AQABA- A free day to explore this Red Sea city or to relax on the beach. ( BD) DAY 8: MT NEBO - KERAK - MADABA - AMMAN- A full day takes us from Aqaba to Kerak to explore its fantastic Crusader castle then to the holy site of Moses' Mt Nebo to view the ' Promised Land'. We then head to Madaba with its churches and mosaic before we end back to Amman. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner in a traditional Jordanian restaurant.
