Drive to Tarim, the spiritual capital of South Yemen, with over 300 mosques, before returning to Seyun for the night. ( BD) DAY 4: SHIBAM- Yemen is renowned for its striking architecture and today we visit a superb example - the magnificent Sultan's Palace in Seyun. We continue driving to explore the walled city of Shibam, renowned for its mud brick skyscrapers rising as high as seven storeys. Return to Seyun for the night. ( BL) DAY 5: AL HAJJARAIN - AL MOKULLA-Leaving Seyun we visit the spectacular cliffside village of Al Hajjarain before continuing through the scenic Wadi Do'an to the coastal town of Al Mokulla, where we spend the night. ( BL) DAY 6: BIR ALI - ADEN- Today we follow the Indian Ocean coast to Aden, stopping along the way at the fishing hamlet of Bir Ali where there's a chance to swim in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. ( BL) DAY 7: ADEN- Our day in Aden takes us to the amazing Tanks of Tawila and the Sahareej Museum. ( BD) Day 8: TAIZ- Drive to Taiz, which was once the capital of North Yemen and is known for its beautiful mosques and bustling markets. ( BD) DAY 9: IBB - JIBLAH- Today we visit the beautiful mountain villages of Ibb and Jiblah before returning to Taiz for the night. ( BL) DAY 10: AL MOKHA - AL KOKHA- Leaving Taiz we travel to the Red Sea port of Al Mokha, once one of the world's leading coffee ports. We follow the coast to Al Kokha where we spend the night. ( BLD) DAY 11: ZABID - BAYT AL FAKIH - AL HAJJARAH- Today's route takes us through Zabid, once the location of a famous Islamic university and traditional seat of power in the coastal region known as the Tihama. We continue to the fortified village of Al Hajjarah, 2,300 metres above sea level, where we stay the night in a local funduq. ( BD) DAY 12: AL HAJJARAH - AL MANAKHA-Yemen is a country where traditional methods of agriculture and enterprise are still widely practised. We spend today walking along village paths amid mountain farmlands where we can see farmers at work on the terraced hillsides. We spend tonight in Al Hajjarah. ( BD) DAY 13: MAHWEET - THULA - KAWKABAN- Thula is renowned for its architecture and has some of the finest stonework in Yemen. The fortified town of Kawkaban is on a grand plateau with commanding views of the plains below. Overnight Kawkaban. ( BD) DAY 14: WADI DHAR - SANA'A- Our return journey to Sana'a takes us to one of Yemen's most iconic sites, the Imam's palace at Wadi Dhar.
