Enjoy tranquil beaches, jungle treks, secluded fishing villages, colonial hill stations and a whole lot more.Trip InfoDeparture DatesDay 1-2 / Bangkok No activities are planned on Day 1, so you may arrive at any time. The next morning we enjoy a tour of the city, including Wat Pho, the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha. The rest of the day is free to explore before boarding the overnight sleeper train to Surat Thani.Day 3-4 / Khao Sok National Park - Koh Panyi We canoe into the wildlife-rich rainforest at Khao Sok National Park, before boarding a long-tail boat at Phang Nga. After travelling through the narrow waterways and towering limestone caves, we arrive at Koh Panyi, where we spend a night as guests of a local family.Day 5-6 / Ao Nang The next stage of our adventure unfolds at beautiful Ao Nang near Krabi. Choose between cave exploring, sea kayaking, diving, rock climbing, swimming or just some good old-fashioned 'R&R' in this hidden tropical paradise.Day 7-8 / Penang We make an early start for the journey to Malaysia, where our first destination is the island state of Penang. The following day we enjoy a walking tour of Georgetown, discovering the colourful markets, old temples and winding streets of the island's main city.Day 9-10 / Cameron Highlands Leaving the hot coastal lowlands, we head south to the Cameron Highlands and the hill station of Tanah Rata. Explore the surrounding mountain trails and visit lush green tea plantations.Day 11 / Kuala Lumpur A mixture of the old and new, KL has strong Indian, Malay and Chinese influences, and contains some of the finest markets and restaurants in South East Asia. Our leader will share his local knowledge on a walking tour of the city.Day 12 / Malaca The Portuguese, Dutch and British have all left their mark on this historic town. We can walk, cycle or sit back in a rickshaw to explore the intriguing Chinese side streets dotted with reminders of a rich colonial past.Day 13-14 / Singapore We head to the Straits of Johore and cross to the island nation of Singapore. The following day we explore some of Bangkok's highlights before boarding a northbound overnight sleeper train for Chiang Mai.Day 3 / Chiang Mai Chiang Mai is an ancient walled city dotted with temples and markets and here we have a free day to explore. In the evening we head to the famous Night Bazaar for a bowl of delicious tom yum before trying your hand at bargaining for some great buys.Day 4-5 / Huay Xai - Mekong River - Pakbeng We cross the border into Laos, spending the evening in a sleepy Laotian riverside town. The following day we meander down the mighty Mekong on a boat. In the late afternoon we arrive in Pakbeng where we stay overnight in a rustic guesthouse.Day 6-7 / Luang Prabang Another slow boat takes us on a ride down river to Luang Prabang. On the way, we visit the Buddhist temple caves at Pak Ou. In Luang Prabang the many beautiful temples and French architecture make for great photographic opportunities.Day 8-11 / Vang Vieng - Vientiane Beautiful Vang Vieng, located on the banks of the Nam Song River and surrounded by stunning limestone cliffs, is our next stop. Continuing south, we reach Vientiane. Take a walking tour of the capital and some of the Buddhist temples.Day 12-14 / Siem Reap - Angkor We fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia, where we explore the town before driving out to the Angkor Wat complex to watch the sunset from Phnom Bakheng. We then have two days to explore the Angkor temples - the first day with a local guide, the following day, free.Day 15-16 / Phnom Penh We explore the former Tuol Sleng Prison and the Killing Fields, both sobering reminders of the Khmer Rouge era. After visiting these sites, there is free time to visit the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the temple of Wat Phnom.Day 17 / Chambok Homestay We travel to Chambok Homestay on the outskirts of Kirirom National Park. Here we walk on a jungle trail, visit a bat cave, enjoy bird-watching and swim at a waterfall. Stay as a guest of the local villagers and enjoy a performance of Khmer dancing.Day 18-19 / Sihanoukvile The beach awaits us at the coastal town of Sihanoukville, where we enjoy time off to relax and enjoy a swim in the warm waters.Day 20-21 / Phnom Penh We return by road to Phnom Penh, where we spend a night in this lively city.
