You can wander around and explore the evocative streets of this old colonial city. Day 2 / Galapagos Cruise - Las Bachas We fly to the island of Baltra, where our Galapagos cruise begins. First stop is the beautiful beach of Las Bachas, a major egg-laying site for sea turtles. Marine iguanas can be found ashore and flamingos are common in the lagoon. Day 3 / Las Plazas - Santa Fe South Plaza is home to marine and land iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls, frigate birds and blue-footed and masked boobies. On Santa Fe, we stroll through an amazing prickly pear forest while avoiding iguanas basking in the sun. Day 4 / Española Española's remote location has resulted in an island with a large variety of endemic creatures. Marine iguanas, hood mockingbird, waved albatross, Galapagos hawks, boobies and a variety of finches are in abundance. Day 5 / Floreana Floreana has long been a favorite of visitors, including pirates, whalers and early settlers. Apart from discovering its intriguing history and assortment of wildlife, we also visit historic Post Office Bay. Day 6 / Santa Cruz - Chales Darwin Station Stopping at the town of Puerto Ayora, we visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and head up into the highlands to see the Galapagos giant tortoise. Day 7 / Rabida - Santiago Rabida is one of the most volcanically varied islands in the chain. On Santiago we encounter amazing tidal pools and walk to see a variety of birdlife and wildlife. Day 8 / Bartolome - Sombrero Chino We climb the Summit Trail to the top of Bartolome for one of the most stunning, panoramic views of the Galapagos. Next is Sombrero Chino, approached via a beautiful beach that is home to sea lions and sally lightfoot crabs. Day 9 / North Seymour - Quito North Seymour is our final port of call. Magnificent frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies greet us before we return to Baltra for our flight back to Quito. Day 10 / Quito Our complete Galapagos adventure ends today after breakfast.
