You have free time to explore the wide range of museums, impressive colonial buildings and churches this great city has on offer. Day 3-4 / Cusco Ascending to the former Inca capital of Cusco, we visit the Plaza de Armas, the great cathedral and the main museum. Then you can head to the Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman, Quenca, Tambo Machay and the beautiful Sacred Valley. Day 5-9 / Inca Trail Trek We embark on our amazing trek along ancient Inca trails to Machu Picchu. Returning to Cusco, we have one free day to relax or further explore this wonderful city and its surrounds. Day 10-12 / Puno - Lake Titicaca A highlight of our trip is a visit to Lake Titicaca. Its floating reed islands are home to the Uros Indians. On Amantani Island, we spend a night with a local Indian family and enjoy their warm hospitality. Day 13-15 / La Paz Following the shores of Lake Titicaca we enter Bolivia and its capital, La Paz. We have free time here to discover the treasures of this vibrant, Indian city. On Day 15, we take an overnight bus to the town of Sucre. Day 16-17 / Sucre Sucre is Bolivia's constitutional capital and a university city, with many attractions and a laid-back atmosphere. Rich in culture and history, it is also home to some very impressive historical buildings and musuems. Day 18-19 / Potosi - Uyuni We drive to Potosi, once the silver capital of the New World. Declared a 'cultural asset of humankind' by UNESCO, the town has an interesting and colourful past we explore on a tour. On the afternoon of Day 19 we drive to Uyuni. Day 20 / Uyuni Salt Desert We explore the salt plains of the Uyuni Desert by 4WD. The white, shimmering surface of this seemingly endless lake is set beneath magnificent mountains and stunning blue skies. In the evening we join the train to Villazon. Day 21 / Vilazon - Humahuaca - Tilcara We visit the town of Villazon and the stunning Humahuaca Gorge, a major trade route for the past 10,000 years and the main route for Potosi's silver. We visit Humahuaca and Uquia villages before arriving in the town of Tilcara. Day 22-24 / Salta We enjoy the sunrise at the famous seven colours mountain. In the afternoon, we continue to Salta, Argentina's most traditional colonial city. In the evening of Day 24 we join the overnight bus bound for Buenos Aires. Day 25-27 / Buenos Aires This massive, energetic city has so much to offer. Your adventure down the 'Camino Real' comes to an end on the morning of Day 27. On our final afternoon we board the overnight bus for Iguazu Falls. Day 4-5 / Iguazu Fals The mighty Iguazu Falls is comprised of 275 individual falls that plunge over the periphery of a gigantic plateau. The roar is deafening! On the evening of Day 5 we board the overnight bus for Curitiba. Day 6 / Atlantic Rainforest We join the Serra Verde Express on its journey through the Atlantic Rainforest. Disembarking, we make the short trek down the Itupava Colonial Trail to our lodge. In the afternoon there's time to relax, swim or further explore the rainforest. Day 7-8 / Paranagua - Honey Island We discover the charm of Morretes village before descending to the coast. Here we board a boat, exploring some of the islands and wildlife that make up Superagui National Park. Beautiful Honey Island will be our home for two nights. Day 9 / Curitiba - Rio de Janeiro After breakfast there is time to wander around the island before returning to Curitiba, where we board the night bus to Rio.
