On our final afternoon we board the overnight bus for Iguazu Falls. Day 4-5 / Iguazu Fals The mighty Iguazu Falls is comprised of 275 individual falls that plunge over the periphery of a gigantic plateau. The roar is deafening! On the evening of Day 5 we board the overnight bus for Curitiba. Day 6 / Atlantic Rainforest We join the Serra Verde Express on its journey through the Atlantic Rainforest. Disembarking, we make the short trek down the Itupava Colonial Trail to our lodge. In the afternoon there's time to relax, swim or further explore the rainforest. Day 7-8 / Paranagua - Honey Island We discover the charm of Morretes village before descending to the coast. Here we board a boat, exploring some of the islands and wildlife that make up Superagui National Park. Beautiful Honey Island will be our home for two nights. Day 9 / Curitiba - Rio de Janeiro After breakfast there is time to wander around the island before returning to Curitiba, where we board the night bus to Rio. Day 10-11 / Rio de Janeiro Rio is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There are the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, and a visit to the statue of Christ the Redeemer. At night, it's the wild and colourful nightlife that makes this city truly famous! Day 12 / Rio de Janeiro Our popular overland adventure comes to an end after breakfast today. Day 3-4 / Cusco A short flight brings us to the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. We visit the Plaza de Armas, the main cathedral and museum. Then you can head to the great Inca site of Sacsayhuaman or the beautiful Sacred Valley. Day 5-9 / Inca Trail Trek - Cusco Our trek leads us into the surrounding mountains and to Machu Picchu. At the end we board the train to Cusco, where we have a day to relax and take in those last few sights. Day 10-12 / Puno - Lake Titicaca Taking the valley road across to Puno, we cross the Le Raya Pass and descend to the shores of Lake Titicaca. We visit the floating reed islands of the Uros Indians and stay overnight with a local family on Amantani Island. Day 13-15 / La Paz Our bus takes us to Copacabana then on to La Paz. The cobbled stone streets of this mountain city lead us by colourful markets and impressive buildings. On the evening of Day 15, we board the overnight bus to Potosi. Day 16-18 / Potosi - Sucre The towering Cerro Rico Mountain that dwarfs Potosi once contained the richest silver mine in the world. Here we visit the Jesuit Tower, the main square, cathedral, and the old mint before we make the short drive to Sucre. Day 19-20 / Santa Cruz We fly to Santa Cruz. At 415 metres its climate is distinctly tropical. We check out the city's attractions including the zoological gardens. On our final evening in Bolivia we board the overnight train to the Brazilian frontier. Day 21-22 / Pantanal Our Brazilian tour leader will meet us at Puerto Suarez and we head for our lodge in the wetlands of the Pantanal. This vast aquatic reserve hosts 650 bird species, 230 varieties of fish and a wide array of other exotic wildlife. Day 23-24 / Bonito - Dourados The beautiful town of Bonito is surrounded by forests, rivers and caves. Soak up this pristine environment and take part in a real adventure activity, perhaps rappelling, snorkelling or cave exploring. We continue to Dourados for an overnight stay. Day 25-26 / Iguazu Fals Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina, are without doubt one of the most impressive in the world. The water cascades over the edge of a 2.5 kilometre wide plateau and splinters into 275 separate falls. Day 27 / Atlantic Rainforest We join the Serra Verde Express along the magnificent rail line that has linked Curitiba to Paranagua since 1885. We disembark at Marumbi station and trek down the Itupava Colonial Trail to our lodge, located on the edge of the rainforest. Day 28-29 / Paranagua - Honey Island In Morretes, we enjoy the charm of this small historical town before heading to Paranagua, where we explore the islands that make up the Superagui National Park.
