DAY 2 / TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN NATIONAL PARK - Hop on a ferry for our day trip to a tropical island in Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Here we can relax and swim in the warm waters or do some snorkelling.DAY 3 / Travel along the coast to the 'Tip of Borneo', where we witness the picturesque vista of the place where the South China Sea meets the Sulu Sea. This is an exceptionally scenic area and there is time for us to swim or just relax on one of the finest beaches in Borneo. We then check into our traditional longhouse where we are guest of the Rungus people for the night. DAYS 4-5 / MOUNT KINABALU - We trek to a nearby rubber estate, where we get a chance at testing our skills at rubber tapping. We then ride our bicycles for about 5 kilometres through scenic farms to the Mompilis Village longhouse. Here we can enjoy a fresh coconut drink. We then drive to Mount Kinabalu National Park. Here we can swim or soak in the Poring Hot Springs and check out the canopy walk which consists of a series of walkways suspended 40 metres from trees above the jungle floor and offers unique views of the surrounding forest. It's great fun and a terrific way to spot birds and other wildlife.DAYS 6-7 / SANDAKAN - SEPILOK ORANG-UTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE - Drive to Sandakan for an fternoon city tour. The following day we visit the Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre which teaches survival skills to orphaned apes - who are absolutely adorable - so that they can be re-introduced into the wild. We then take a boat journey along Sabah's longest river, the Kinabatangan, to Sukau Rainforest Lodge. En route we have opportunities to spot birds and other wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. DAY 8 / KINABATANGAN RIVER - Enjoy a full day in the jungle at the Kinabantangan River. On our boat cruise we keep our eyes open for a variety of wildlife - proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills, otters and elephants, to name just a few! DAY 3 / BEIJING - Tiananmen Square, once synonymous with tragic history, is actually the hub of the city. Full of locals, tourists and thousands of bicycles it is the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the cultural scene. So how about flying kites with the locals here?! We will also tour the vast Forbidden City and explore the other sights of Beijing before taking the overnight sleeper train to Xian.
