Enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant - Peking Duck is often a popular choice!DAY 2 / GREAT WALL - Seen from space, the Great Wall of China looks like a mere wrinkle but up close it is certainly more impressive! We take a day trip to a remote section of the Great Wall at Mutianyu and walk a section of it before returning to Beijing in the afternoon. DAY 3 / BEIJING - Tiananmen Square, once synonymous with tragic history, is actually the hub of the city. Full of locals, tourists and thousands of bicycles it is the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the cultural scene. So how about flying kites with the locals here?! We will also tour the vast Forbidden City and explore the other sights of Beijing before taking the overnight sleeper train to Xian. DAYS 4-5 / XIAN - We enjoy an half-day tour to see the Terracotta Warriors. Buried for 2000 years, each one has a different costume, height and even facial expression! The following day is free to explore Xian including its fascinating Muslim quarter. DAYS 6-7 / YANGSHUO - Fly to Guilin then travel on to Yangshuo surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. We have the chance to shop for ingredients in a local market before attending a cooking class and sampling our fare. The spectacular limestone karsts of Yangshuo are best explored by bike, and we cycle amongst lush paddy fields before stopping for lunch at a local family's home. DAY 8 / LI RIVER CRUISE - We enjoy a very relaxing day by taking a leisurely boat cruise on the Li River. Here, we get the opportunity to view the spectacular and beautiful scenery for which the area is famous.We then hop on the overnight train to Guangzhou. DAY 9 / HONG KONG - We board a ferry bound for our final destination - the shimmering skyscrapers and bright lights of Hong Kong.DAY 10 / HONG KONG - Our adventure ends in Hong Kong this morning.
