No activities are planned on Day 1 so you may arrive at any time. On Day 2 we enjoy a guided tour of the pyramids and Sphinx and have the rest of the day free to explore the city. Day 3 / White Desert We meet our Bedouin crew, and begin our desert jeep safari. We have time to visit the museum in Farafra and to swim in a natural spring before entering a spectacular region of wind-hewn limestone rocks. We camp tonight in the White Desert. Day 4 - 5 / Dakhla In Dakhla we visit the old mud-brick citadel and explore the Ethnographic Museum. Day 6 / Al Kharga - Baris Further south we reach Al Kharga, where we visit the Temple of Hibis and the elaborate mud-brick necropolis of Al Bagawat, dating to the 4th century AD.Day 7 - 8 / Luxor - Valey of the Kings Arriving in Luxor we say goodbye to our Bedouin friends. The following day we ride donkeys into the Valley of the Kings. Day 9 / Aswan An early start sees us on the road to the laid-back city of Aswan. The rest of the day is free to explore the backstreet bazaars or for optional activities. Day 10 - 12 / Abu Simbel - Feluca sail Today we make an early start for Abu Simbel where we visit the temple of Ramses II. Returning to Aswan, we board our feluccas and set sail towards Edfu and the Temple of Horus.Day 13 / Luxor - Cairo We say goodbye to our felucca crew and travel by road into Luxor where the afternoon is free for final shopping before we board the night train to Cairo. Day 14 - 15 / Cairo - Sinai Back in Cairo we have a day to explore, allowing time to visit the older parts of the city. The next day we head into the Sinai.Day 16 / Mt Sinai Ascent - Dahab We set off before dawn to climb Mt Sinai (2285m) and from the summit we enjoy a spectacular sunrise. Day 17 - 18 / Dahab We have two full days to enjoy this easy-going coastal resort. There's heaps to do including swimming, snorkelling, windsurfing, diving - and camel rides! Day 19 - 20 / Sinai - Cairo We return to Cairo for our final night. The trip ends the next day after breakfast.
