No activities are planned, so arrive any time and explore. Day 2 / Agra - Taj Mahal An early morning train takes us to Agra, home to India's most famous site:the majestic Taj Mahal. Explore this awe-inspiring 17th century marble marvel, built by Emperor Shah Jahan to honour the memory of his second wife. We also have the option to visit Agra Fort with our local guide. Day 3 / Tordi Garh We travel to Tordi Garh to experience a unique rural village. Tordi is small and friendly and sees few tourists. We stay in a section of the local, 16th century Palace and explore the nearby temples and forts. Day 4-5 / Jaipur Jaipur's backstreets and bazaars radiate a unique culture and colour all their own. The 'pink city' may be centuries-old but has the vibrancy of youth, captivating from little-known alley to iconic must-see. We visit the internally ornate Amber Fort, the Palace of the Winds and Johari Jewellery Bazaar. Day 6 / Nimaj Bagh The 'real' India is best discovered far from the big cities and popular monuments. We travel by local bus to Nimaj Bagh, where we wander the village and its beautiful orchard, and discover a traditional lifestyle largely unchanged for centuries. Day 7 / Jodhpur We take the morning bus to the beautiful 'blue city', Jodhpur. The city is dominated by the imposing Meherangarh Fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge overlooking the surrounds. We explore the walled old town and stroll through the bubbling Sadar Market. Day 8-10 / Udaipur We travel to stunning, romantic Udaipur, the 'Venice of the East', built on the islands and shores of serene Lake Pichola. Discover the Lake Palace, Jagdish Temple and the City Palace, before catching an overnight sleeper train to Delhi. Day 11 / Delhi We arrive by local bus in Delhi and explore this fascinating city. Visit Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, before wandering Connaught Place, the commercial hub of New Delhi where you can pick up some last-minute bargains or watch the best of Bollywood.
