A very novel idea was created by a member of staff with the approval of Management in Vodafone. Staff were encouraged to buy a nourishing bowl of soup and proceeds from every bowl went to ISANDS. What a wonderful idea!! And to make it even better Vodafone Ireland Foundation matched the money that was raised ! Our thanks to David Maguire for his health conscious idea and for choosing ISANDS, who were also nourished by the venture!! False Cork Marathon - participants raise over € 14,600!! Our heartfelt thanks to all the ladies and few great gents who represented ISANDS in the Cork Marathon. Well done to everyone for completing the course, it is lovely to see so many orange shirts out their holding the flag for ISANDS. Our thanks to all your families, friends and colleagues for their continued support. We are so aware that each year it is the same people who support us and they must dread us coming at times looking for money but please let them know how we value and appreciate their support. You all raised an extraordinary amount of money and it will make such a difference to fund what we have to spend in our 25th Anniversary year. This year we hope to have new T- Shirts with the new ISANDS logo, so hopefully we’ll have a new band of colour in the Cork Marathon 2008!! New ISANDS T- Shirt sporting our new logo will be ready for this years fund raising events, starting with the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon. isands newsletter 22
