On 25th March our class organised a three course lunch for 22 teachers as part of our Hotel Catering and Tourism course. This was a key task and a huge amount of work went into it. We decided to donate the money we raised to ISANDS because of two teachers in our school Ms McCabe and Mrs Willoughby who had stillbirths. We planned the menu, shopped, prepared and cooked all the food for the meal. The teachers were very impressed with the excellent standard of our work. We learned about teamwork, working under pressure and how important good customer service skills are. We charged the teachers ? 15 for the meal and after costs were delighted to raise ? 200 for ISANDS. Mrs Willoughby our Social Education teacher was a volunteer with ISANDS and told us about the charity and the work they do. She was delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of the charity. We are pleased that our hard work has helped the work of ISANDS in some way and we would encourage other schools to try this. We would like to thank Ms Cooper our Hotel Catering and Tourism teacher who helped us so much and for all the hard work she did and also the teachers who supported the lunch. ~*~ Many thanks to the students, teachers and everyone who supported this wonderful initiative in aid of ISANDS.
