On our tea house treks you will generally stay in twin-bedded rooms, with all meals and extra snacks included. By staying in tea houses you will have close contact with the Nepalese people and are directly contributing to the local economy. Our Luxury Lodge treks in the Everest and Annapurna regions offer greater comfort still, look out for these if you like to trek in style. Hotels in Kathmandu We use two of the best hotels in the city for trips that include time in Kathmandu. Dwarika's Hotel *****Walking into Dwarika's is like walking into an ancient Nepalese palace and the hotel has won numerous Heritage awards. The courtyards, with their terracotta work and intricately carved antique doors and windows, lead finally to a very special outdoor swimming pool. The Shangri-La Hotel **** All our tea house treks stay at the Shangri-La, which sits in the heart of the diplomatic enclave. The prizewinning gardens, recently refurbished rooms and swimming pool, built in traditional royal style, provide the perfect haven from the busy city. Family adventure in Nepal We offer a fun-filled family adventure in the Annapurna Foothills that combines a gentle trek with an elephant-back safari and river rafting. We can also Tailor Make a the perfect adventure to suit your family. Details of all our family adventures can be found on pages 72 and 73.
