Hong Kong's Shangri- la luxury hotel chain was quickest off the mark and opened this huge new hotel immediately beside the new site. It's the only show in town for traders though, and, despite the spacious surroundings and landscaped gardens, the location is less appealing if you're in Guangzhou out- of- season.
