Behind the scenes It is not just the pre-departure groundwork that is important. We work away behind the scenes while you are on your trip to ensure that everything runs as smoothly and safely as possible. Safari Drive has built up a network of people in each of the countries in which we operate, allowing us to update our information on a regular basis and to ensure that, should you have any problems, help will not be far away. We can react quickly and efficiently to any changes in plan, if necessary. Your safety is paramount Independence and freedom to explore are vital ingredients of your journey but so is your safety. Self driving means you will be taking responsibility for certain aspects of your own safety and you must, therefore, be prepared in advance for all eventualities. We ensure that you are properly equipped to handle anything that Africa throws at you with recommended driving courses, a detailed trip handbook and full in-country briefings. We provide you with air ambulance cover by local medical air rescue teams and we check on your progress throughout your journey. In the event of a breakdown, we will provide you with a replacement vehicle within as short a time as possible. THE SAFARI DRIVE SAFETY NET ! Driver training available ! During a self drive trip, you are likely to encounter the following; ! unexpected weather conditions, which can cause havoc at times ! hot and dusty or cold and wet sections of your journey ! tricky route finding ! the occasional puncture ! extreme proximity to wild animals ! obstacles in your path such as a tree pushed over by an elephant At times, the shops and banks may be closed when least anticipated or you may stop at a fuel station only to find they have run out of fuel. Any traveller must be prepared mentally and practically for anything that Africa may throw at you because, be assured, it will! We suggest if you are not prepared for these variables, then self drive in Africa is probably not for you. Off road driving courses We highly recommend that you do an off road 4x4 driving course before you depart for Africa. The course will greatly improve your driving and, consequently, your enjoyment of the holiday. The courses stand in their own right as a really fun and enlightening day and will teach you to control the vehicle under many different conditions. We are happy to advise you of a registered course near you. S A F A R I D R I V E 0 1 4 8 8 7 1 1 4 0 75 |
