More resorts for Peppers One of the most exciting developments of the year under the Stella umbrella, has been the expansion of the upmarket Peppers brand. It started with in April with the opening of the AUD 80 million Peppers Pier Resort at Hervey Bay, the gateway to Queensland’s magnifi cent Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. This new major resort features six levels of one, two and three bedroom apartments, plus eleven penthouses. Peppers Bale Resort opened a month later in Port Douglas. Guests can choose from a range of beautiful one, two, three and four bedroom ‘sanctuaries’ all with a lounge, private plunge pools, and a poolside pavilion with day bed. The new Port Douglas property also offers full kitchen and dining facilities in its sanctuaries, while dedicated foodies will be pleased to hear that the resort is also the new location of Melbourne and Port Douglas restaurateurs, Tony and Di Sassi, owners of multiaward winning Sassi Island Point and Sassi Cucina. This month, Peppers Blue on Blue Resort will open on Queensland’s Magnetic Island as an international standard property with 157 rooms and suites right on the water’s edge overlooking the island’s marina and picturesque Nelly Bay. Magnetic Island is easily reached on a 20-minute ferry ride from Townsville. The attention turns to Victoria in September, when Peppers The Sands Resort comes on the map in Torquay as a premium golf resort experience, just moments from the beaches and just one hour’s drive from Melbourne. The internationally recognised surfing destination, Bells Beach, is just ten minutes away from Torquay, in an area that is also fast becoming renowned for its boutique wineries Peppers Pier Resort, Hervey Bay and restaurants.
