The Masai Mara Reserve is Kenya's most precious wildlife sanctuary. This is big game country and long famed as one of Africa's greatest concentrations of game. Later, check in to Mara Simba Lodge or similar. During the afternoon game drive, we may have the opportunity to see herds of impala, wildebeest, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, ostrich as well as lion, cheetah, hyena and possibly the elusive leopard. In the evening enjoy continental dinner at the lodge.Note: Travelling in Kenya is by Micro Bus. The Masai Mara is the northern most extremity of the great Serengeti ecosystem. Here dense thorn bushes reveal browsing black rhino, and near the Riverain Woodland, large number of giraffe and elephants are to be seen along with hippos cavorting together in the Mara River. Boasting Kenya's largest predator population, the reserve is renowned for lion prides up to 20 strong. Overnight stay at Mara Simba lodge or similar.Breakfast (Y) Lunch (Y) Dinner (Y)Day 4: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru (Bird Sanctuary)Check-out and travel through serene farmlands to Lake Nakuru. En route visit the Thompson's Falls. Later, descent into the Great Rift Valley, this is one of the world's most important bird sanctuaries. Lake Nakuru boasts the most spectacular of all of Africa's bird sights - enormous flocks of pastel pink flamingos, as well as other bird species. Our afternoon game drive takes us through the lush green park that surrounds the lake. Many species including reedbuck, bushbuck, warthog, baboon, leopard and the Rothschild giraffe call this home. On arrival have an opportunity to see a variety of unusual species, including the reticulated giraffe, zebra and the oryx. Also visit Jane Goodall's chimpanzee sanctuary.
