We meet up in Adelaide and travel through the Clare Valley, savouring the rugged natural landscapes. Enjoy the view from Mt Remarkable lookout, before arriving in the Flinders Ranges. Spend the afternoon hiking around the area, reaching the summit of Dutchman's Stern for some amazing views of the Ranges. We then reach Quorn. (L,D)DAY 2 Flinders Ranges. Get a feel for one of the most surreal landscapes on earth - the Flinders Ranges. A place where Indigenous culture and heritage meets natural beauty, it's truly like no other place. Visit the natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound, a crater formed by an ancient meteor strike. Then in the afternoon view some traditional Indigenous rock paintings. Tonight perhaps even share a drink with the locals! (B,L,D)DAY 3 Quorn to Coober Pedy. Today we'll travel through Port Augusta into Glendambo for lunch, before arriving at the Opal Capital of the World, Coober Pedy. Discover underground attractions, outback hospitality and more opals than you thought possible. Tonight we'll eat dinner together at one of the many restaurants in the area. (B,L,D)DAY 4 Coober Pedy to Ayers Rock. Leaving the opal township, we head northwards along the Stuart Highway towards Uluru, the traditional name for Ayers Rock. View the monolithic rock at sunset amongst the forbidding landscape for one of the most iconic images on earth. (B,L,D)DAY 5 Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon. We start early today, in order to catch the sunrise at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). This dramatic collection of 36 domes is a world-renowned site of natural beauty, with plenty of flora and fauna to discover. Then we'll pay a visit to Kings Creek Station, a working cattle farm in the middle of the Red Centre,. Cool off with a swim before dinner perhaps? (B,L,D)DAY 6 Kings Canyon to Alice Springs. Today we go for a hike through Kings Canyon, visiting towering sandstone cliffs, idyllic watering holes and lush greenery on the valley floor. It's a true highlight of the trip, bringing the natural world to bear in all its magnificence. Then we head over rolling sand dunes towards Alice Springs and the end of our journey. We commence our journey in the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne, one of the biggest urban centres in Australia. Making our way down the Victorian coast we visit renowned surfing areas such as Torquay, Bells Beach and Lorne. Then after lunch we make for the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk, before stopping in the seaside town of Port Campbell. (L,D)DAY 2 Great Ocean Road to Grampians National Park. The Great Ocean Road is renowned for its awesome rock formations, so prepare for sights like no other. We'll visit London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge and The Arch, amongst others. Then in the afternoon we'll travel to the Grampians, a scintillating mix of rugged natural beauty that's steeped in Indigenous history. (B,D)DAY 3 Grampians National Park to Adelaide. You'll have plenty of chances for getting back to nature today, as there's optional hikes to Hollow Mountain, Mackenzie Falls or Reed Lookout on offer.
