Get to know your fellow travellers over coffee at the historic township of York. Next we're off to discover the formations of Wave Rock and Hippo's yawn before heading to Fitzgerald National Park. (L, D)DAY 2 Fitzgerald River National Park to Cape Le Grand National Park. We'll be winding our way along the coastal route to Esperance. Spot the kangaroo and enjoy the scenic white sandy beaches and spectacular views of Cape Le Grand National Park or take a walk at Australia's premier National Park. (B, L, D)DAY 3 Cape Le Grand National Park to Nullarbor. Take in the spectacular view from the top of Frenchman's Peak before heading out to the wide open spaces of Australia's Nullarbor Plain. (B, L, D)DAY 4 Nullarbor to Koonalda Homestead. After taking in the landscapes of Nullarbor Plain we'll uncover Old Eucla, a telegraph town buried by sand dunes. Find and photograph the giant wedge-tailed eagle as it surveys the surrounding land for its prey. Tonight we're camping out at a historical homestead with local wildlife to keep us company! (B, L, D)DAY 5 Koonalda Homestead to Coodlie Park. We pay a visit to some weird and wonderful granite rock formations and the majestic cliffs of the Great Australian Bight. Learn about the different styles and meanings behind many forms of Indigenous art at the Ceduna Arts and Cultural Centre. (B, L, D)DAY 6 Coodlie Park. Play with sea lions and swim with wild dolphins (optional). visit Murphy's Haystacks - weird and wonderful granite rock formations and hang on tight as you surf massive sand dunes. (B, L, D)DAY 7 Coodlie Park to Port Lincoln. Learn to surf on a remote and pristine Aussie beach before exploring Locks Well "Staircase to Heaven" coastal walk. Sleep among wild koalas at Mikkira station. (B, L, D)DAY 8 Port Lincoln. If you're after an adrenalin rush get your heart pumping with an optional cage dive with great white sharks. For a less frightening close encounter, how about hand feeding wild blue fin tuna and kangaroos at Glen Forest Wildlife Park. (B, L, D)DAY 9 Port Lincoln to Adelaide. Today we visit Wadlata Cultural Centre and take an interactive walk through the life of the new frontier pioneers. See how curious emus are as you walk through the Mount Remarkable National Park. First up is Cataract Gorge, a beautiful spot in the heart of Launceston. Then it's off to the east coast and the Bay of Fires. Tonight you'll get up close and personal with the local penguins as they come ashore for the evening (optional in season).DAY 2 Bicheno to Hobart via Freycinet National Park. We're up early for Wineglass Bay. Take some time out on the secluded beach or tackle the hike up Mt Amos. In the afternoon we travel to the historical village of Ross and a quick stop at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where we'll meet some Tasmanian Devils. (B)DAY 3 Port Arthur. Our first stop today is the colonial village of Richmond. We spend the rest of the day at Port Arthur, a former penal colony and now a World Heritage-listed site. Take part in a guided walk and harbour cruise. (B)DAY 4 Hobart. Take the day to explore Hobart at your own pace. Visit the controversial Museum of Old and New Art or perhaps indulge your shopping bug around the Salamanca precinct. For the more adventurous, experience the Mt Wellington descent or kayak down the Derwent River. There's even guided walking tours around the city if you're up for it!DAY 5 Hobart to Strahan. From Hobart we travel through the Derwent Valley to Lake St Clair, Australia's deepest freshwater lake. From here it's not far to the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Finish up the day in Strahan for a barbecue with our hosts. (D)DAY 6 Strahan. Today is a free day! Visit Ocean Beach and the Henty Sand Dunes, take a stroll along the harbour, or visit the nearby temperate rainforest for the chance of a waterfall sighting. (B)DAY 7 Strahan to Launceston via Cradle Mountain. Today we journey to Cradle Mountain Tasmania's best known National Park. Time to explore the northern end of this park before we head to Sheffield "the town of murals" then onto Launceston, where we say goodbye.
