As the Wrangell Mountains cast their lengthy shadow, ready yourself for some top- notch glacier action. How about a guided hike or, for a more vertical challenge, clipping on the crampons for ice climbing on Root Glacier. Day 3 Tangle Lakes- Great name, great place to chill out after the challenging, yet scenic drive crossing the famous 800- mile- long Alaskan pipeline. Lake- splattered green plains stretch to distant mountains, and some wilderness canoeing should up your pulse rate. Days 4- 6 Denali National Park- You'll be glad summer puts in so many overtime hours of daylight this far north. It's time to get stuck into the vast expanse of Denali National Park. Snap a few shots of bears or moose on a scenic bus ride. Standing at over 20,320 feet, Mount Mckinley dominates every view on a blue sky day and a scenic flight will blow you away. Day 7 Denali >> Anchorage- Okay, so once you've experienced Denali's wilderness up close, make sure you take the time to point your camera up to the skies to capture the imposing glacier capped peaks, before returning to explore Anchorage's many local breweries... now that's what we call a grand finale! H ere's one for all you wild things! Brace yourself for a week on the ' Last Frontier', aka Alaska. Pull on your intrepid boots and find adventure in the shadow of the continent's highest peak; tread ice carved valleys, cross sprawling tundra or raft churning rivers. If you want the wow factor, this has bags of it! DenaliDenali Alaskan Alaskan trips pass through rugged terrain and isolated areas. An authentic Alaskan salmon bake is your tasty reward after all your mountain biking or your included sea kayaking adventure. Day 5 Homer- Across the bay, a little R& R is on the cards. Halibut fishing is king here though combing the sands of the ' spit' or getting acquainted with local galleries are other ways to take it nice and easy. Day 6 Kenai National Wildlife Refuge- One word: wow! If you opt for the canoe view, the pine- enclosed lakes often deliver the sight of eagles surveying all from treetop perches or moose grazing by the shore. For more adventure raft the whitewater of Alaska! Day 7 Anchorage- Back from the wilderness, hit the malls, live music spots or funky Alaskan themed pubs to round off your trip in style. T est your mettle in the immense, untamed beauty of the 49th State.
