See towering Mt. Revelstoke and travel through Glacier National Park along the route to Yoho ( a native word meaning awe). Our home for the next two nights is the small town of Golden near the Kicking Horse River. Experience the raging Kicking Horse firsthand with an exhilarating half- day whitewater raft ride or choose to canoe and hike at magnificent Emerald Lake. The challenging trails overlooking the Takakkaw Falls are also an excellent option! Depart for Banff along the scenic road via Lake Louise. With photo opportunities at every turn, the Banff sunset in particular must be appreciated while soaking in the natural hot springs! Banff's nightlife offers great live music and a fine selection of restaurants, however, the real treat are the activities. Canoe the Bow River, mountain bike or view the scenic grandeur from a helicopter. Outstanding hikes will be available and, with the abundant wildlife, there is always a good chance of seeing bears from a safe distance. The Icefields Parkway through the heart of the Rockies is surely one of the world's ultimate drives. Peyto Lake's turquoise hues startle with their brilliance. Parker Ridge Trail will reward you with panoramic views of the Saskatchewan Glacier winding through pristine, mountain- studded terrain. Why not traverse a portion of the imposing Athabasca Glacier on a guided glacier hike?! Next is Jasper National Park. Start by taking the cable car to Whistler Mountain for a bird's eye view and the next day go hiking along stunning lakeside scenery, or visit Mt. Edith Cavell for glorious views of Angel Glacier. Mt. Robson, highest peak ( 3954m) in the Canadian Rockies, offers a great photo op before arriving at our hotel in Caribou Country. Kick back and enjoy the swimming pool, or hop onto a horse for an afternoon ride. After dinner, a relaxing whirlpool and sauna await. Crossing the Camelsfoot Range, we parallel the Fraser River en route to Vancouver, Canada's favourite western city. After a tour of Gastown and Stanley Park's totem poles, you will have the afternoon free for exploration, before checking out Vancouver's exciting nightlife. We finish our journey in Seattle with time to visit the famous Pike Place Market and Space Needle. 1Seattle >> Kamloops ( HP) 2Yoho NP ( HP) 3Yoho NP ( HP) 4Banff NP ( HP) 5Banff NP ( HP) 6Jasper NP ( HP) 7Jasper NP ( HP) 8Caribou Country ( HP) 9Vancouver ( HP) 10Vancouver >> Seattle NP = National Park HP = hotel nights included in the price Canadian Rockies 08 Jun17 Jun 22 Jun01 Jul 06 Jul15 Jul 20 Jul29 Jul 31 Jul09 Aug 04 Aug13 Aug 17 Aug26 Aug 07 Sep16 Sep The Canadian Rockies tour showcases a majestic wilderness of awe inspiring beauty, and Yoho, Banff and Jasper National Parks are perfect to explore. Surrounding the tallest mountain peak in North America, grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, marmots and wolves all roam the park. River rafting, dog sled demonstrations or walking on quiet nature trails are available near our lovely campground bordering the park. The following days are free to explore the backcountry. Take the included Denali shuttle bus, which offers scenic views of the taiga and sub- arctic tundra, superb opportunities to view wildlife, and access to limitless hiking options. For a real treat why not try a scenic flight and see McKinley's towering peak... you could even opt for a glacier landing! Follow the old Denali Highway east across the foot of the Alaska mountain range and spend the night in rustic cabins. There you will experience the quiet lakes of the tundra, watching for caribou or numerous birds. Why not try your hand at fishing for grayling? Next, follow the pipeline south where we turn off the main highway and head into the heart of Wrangell- St. Elias National Park. Camp on the banks of the Kennicott River in the shadow of Mount Blackburn and enjoy a beautiful view of Root Glacier. The next day is free to explore this vast wilderness region from the historic area of McCarthy and Kennicott. Activities available include hiking, ice climbing and glacier walking. Heading further south, we climb Thompson Pass on our way to spending two nights in Valdez. Tucked away at the end of a glacier- carved fjord, this is the most northerly ice- free port in the Western Hemisphere and the terminus of the Alaskan Pipeline. Consider kayaking to the foot of the Columbia Glacier - it's amazing! After an awe- inspiring ferry ride through Prince William Sound you arrive at the colourful fishing village of Seward for seaside camping. Choose to hike Exit Glacier, fish the waters of Resurrection Bay, or enjoy a boat tour of Kenai Fjords National Park. Spectacular views of this rugged coastline and the Kenai Mountains abound. Sea mammals, bird watching, a visit to a tidewater glacier and the sights and sounds of icebergs being calved into the sea, are all part of this perfect day out. Venture to the other side of the Kenai Peninsula and from Homer we will travel by boat to our luxury wilderness camp. Overlooking Kachemak Bay and surrounded by the magnificent Kenai Mountains, experience a true Alaskan adventure in this remote wilderness paradise. With included activities such as sea kayaking, mountain biking and hiking, you'll appreciate the home- cooked meals and salmon bake, and enjoying the breathtaking scenery before returning to Anchorage and finishing this tour of a lifetime.
