40 F O R R E S E R V A T I O N S C A L L U S O N 0845 130 6982 Migration Special 10 days London to London Day 1. Depart London Depart London for Nairobi. Days 2 to 5. Elephant Pepper Camp, Maasai Mara [B, L, D] On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Elephant Pepper Camp where you spend four nights. Elephant Pepper Camp is located centrally in the Maasai Mara wilderness within the protected Koyaki area away from the other lodges. The spacious canvas tents, each with an en-suite traditional safari shower and toilet, are comfortably furnished and of course nothing rivals sitting around the campfire enjoying the African night sky. Extensive game drives each day and some night drives make game-viewing a complete experience. Walking is also possible with experienced guides. The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary, with abundant wildlife, prolific birdlife and gentle rolling grasslands, ensuring optimum sightings. At this time of year the White-bearded Wildebeest in the Serengeti raise their heads and begin the long trek to the Maasai Mara. After exhausting the grazing en-route they, together with tens of thousands of Burchell’s Zebra, enter the Maasai Mara around late August drawn by the sweet grass that has grown following the rains. It is estimated that more than half a million wildebeest enter the Mara and are joined by another 100,000 from the Loita Hills east of the Mara at this time. The herds of course attract packs of predators, especially Spotted Hyenas and Lions and many die by drowning or from Nile Crocodile attacks, whilst trying to cross the swirling muddy waters of the Mara and Talek rivers. Days 6 to 8. Little Governor’s, Maasai Mara [B, L, D] This morning you drive to Little Governor’s Camp for a 3-night stay. Set within the Maasai Mara Reserve, Little Governor’s Camp consists of seventeen tents nestled around a large watering hole that teems with birdlife. Giraffe, Lion, Elephant and Warthog may all amble past. Activities from the camp include game drives, walking and balloon safaris. Day 9. Homeward [B] Return to Nairobi for your homeward flight back.
