Together with Brown, White, and Black-ruffed Lemurs in Andasibe, you are likely to see the Indri (renowned for its eerie wailing song) the largest of all the lemurs. Chameleons abound including the impressive Parson’s Chameleon, along with tree frogs and numerous species of birds. The beautiful but shy Diademed Sifaka is also found in Mantadia, as well as the exceedingly elusive Fossa and the endangered Aye-Aye. In Anjajavy you are surrounded by lemurs - the morning calls of Coquerel’s Sifaka that lounge in the tree above your villa will wake you in time for breakfast! Brown Lemur groups are very approachable making this the perfect location for photography and art. In addition you will enjoy boat trips around the mangroves and limestone, where we may encounter Madagascar Fish Eagle (one of the rarest birds in the world). You can also swim, fish and snorkel in the sparkling waters of the Mozambique Channel. Jonathan and Angie Scott will recount tales of their travels and photographic trips. Nick Garbutt, a Madagascar wildlife specialist, will spread his enthusiasm and knowledge of the island and the mammals. Learn about photography and marine wildlife from Mark Carwardine and further photography tips from David Back. Jonathan Truss and Mandy Shepherd will hold painting workshops at lunch times and sketching sessions during the excursions. Lyn Hughes will be on hand for informative talks on journalism, and Hilary Bradt will chat about her tales of early adventures in Madagascar. 5th Annual Festival of Wildlife Vakona Lodge and Anjajavy, Madagascar 24th April to 2nd May 2008 Join the experts… Join us in Madagascar, one of the world’s most intriguing and enchanting islands.
