Muchof it is covered by the silver Etosha salt pan thatshimmers in the heat, but to the south are opengrasslands, woodland and waterholes that act asmagnets for game. In the dry season the gamecongregates around the water sources, leading tosome phenomenal game viewing. On Etosha'sgrassveld it is easy to find grazers, includingBurchell's zebra, blue wildebeest, red hartebeestand black-faced impala. Kudu are found on themargins of the woodland, whilst giraffe nibble theacacias and eland come to drink. Etosha's cats arethriving, with large populations of lion, leopardand cheetah. Elephant are found in hundredstrong herds whilst black and white rhino are alsofound, particularly in the west of the park.
